Bei Kartierungen an ausgewählten Bächen im Kobernaußerwald konnte auch der Steinkrebs - eine europaweit geschützte, im Anhang II der Fauna-Flora-Habitatrichtlinie als populär geführte Art - nachgewiesen werden. Auch, wenn es sich um eine stabile Population handeln dürfte, werden Schutzmaßnahmen dringend empfohlen, da große Waldgebiete wertvolle Rückzugsräume darstellen.
